We are a mutually supportive group of enthusiastic poets who are committed to improving our skills and taking poetry into the local community. Our aim is to encourage and promote the enjoyment of writing poetry, to all age groups. Our annual programme includes 10 monthly meetings on the last Monday evening of the month, between 7.30 and 10 p.m. They are held in Dorking, in the staff canteen of Mole Valley Council at Pippbrook.

The evening is divided into two parts:
The first hour includes a discussion about a variety of poetic types, trends, or individual published poets, and is presented by one of the group members. Examples of past topics include: Haiku, improving performing skills,  the Liverpool poets, Surrealism in poetry, Piers Plowman, John Clare, Seamus Heaney. We also invite guest poets to read from their own collections as well as offering a critique of our poems.
The second hour of our meeting is a workshop of four poems brought by members.

Meetings are open to members only though special events may be open to members of the public such as those offered during the Mole Valley annual Arts Alive Festival - workshops on creative writing, Poetry Pub events and poster displays of our poems.

The annual subscription is £18.

Sofa Poet Paul Matthews the international author, poet, and highly acclaimed authority on creative writing, will be reading his poems, talking about his experiences as a poet, and setting short fun creative exercises to encourage word play and dialogue.
